Security and protection of your personal data

We consider it our primary responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of the personal data you provide and to protect it from unauthorised access. We apply the utmost care and state-of-the-art security standards to ensure maximum protection.

As a private-sector company, we are subject to the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and comparable technologies. Strictly necessary session cookies are required to operate the authenticated area; these are deleted automatically when your session ends. Consent under Art. 25(2)(2) TTDSG is not required for these.

Beyond that, we use analytics and marketing cookies only with your explicit consent (Art. 25(1) TTDSG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). On your first visit you will see a cookie banner where you can make your selection. You may withdraw your consent at any time for the future by deleting the piblaster_consent cookie in your browser.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google processes the collected data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Data collected: shortened IP address (IP anonymisation active), device and browser info, pages visited, time on page, interactions (e.g. clicks on “Start trial”, scroll depth), referrer and approximate location (city level). Purpose: analysing usage to improve our service and measuring ad effectiveness. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). Retention: max. 14 months.

Data may be transferred to the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More info: policies.google.com/privacy.

Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager as a technical container to manage the tracking tags listed above. Tag Manager itself collects no personal data and is only loaded after consent. Provider: Google Ireland Limited.

Google Ads Conversion Tracking

With your marketing consent we use Google Ads Conversion Tracking to measure ad effectiveness. We record — linked to a pseudonymous click ID (gclid) — whether after an ad click a specific action (e.g. starting a trial, completing a subscription) took place. There is no cross-site tracking. We additionally use server-side tracking via the Google Analytics Measurement Protocol to record conversions even when the browser is closed after checkout — only your browser’s GA4 Client ID is transmitted to Google, no other personal data. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

We also use “Enhanced Conversions”, where your email address is hashed client-side using SHA-256 before transmission to Google. Google can perform a statistical match with logged-in Google users via the hash to improve conversion measurement. We never transmit plaintext email addresses to Google.
